‘Tis the season for cozy holiday-centric books! The Deerbourne Inn, a recent series put out by the Wild Rose Press, is no exception. I delighted in reading this latest installment (of stand alone novellas) in the Deerbourne Inn.
(psst: If you’d like to read my review of ALL of the books in the series so far, hop over to my Deerbourne Inn summary blog and hop over here to learn more about Mad River Valley).
I had an idea in my mind for sometime—what happens when a family member steals your boyfriend? What if a heroine’s cousin did this? And also, an idea of someone who’s famous who wanted to be loved for themselves, not their money or fame. Then I read the announcement about the Deerbourne Inn series, and I thought, “Hmm…this could work!” I combined the two characters in my book!
What interesting tidbit did you happen upon while writing and researching this book?
I did some research on night-time photography. I already knew something about my heroine’s profession as a school librarian, since I have volunteered in school and public libraries many times over the years. I also had fun researching Thanksgiving recipes for the menu at the Inn. I’m planning to use some for real this Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite Holidays! I am hosting this year!
(yum! This story did make me hungry!)
What is one unique thing about you many might not know?
I love animals, especially dogs, and have volunteered on the board of my local animal shelter for 8 years. Also, I love music and listen to classic rock all the time!
I am enjoying many stories set in the Deerbourne Inn world and am thrilled to have mine included! I dedicated the book to five special friends from college. Two have passed, but their legacy lives on and I am still close to the other three.
